Our Commitment to Integrity and Transparency
BFCU is committed to operating with integrity, transparency, and in accordance with applicable laws governing religious postsecondary education. We believe that prospective students should have clear information about the university's legal status and the nature of its educational programs.
BFCU is a Christian institution dedicated to preparing students for religious vocations and Christian leadership. The university operates in accordance with the provisions of Florida law applicable to qualifying nonpublic religious postsecondary educational institutions. Under Section 1005.06(1)(f) of the Florida Statutes, qualifying religious institutions that meet the statutory requirements are exempt from licensure by the Florida Commission for Independent Education and may receive a letter confirming that they are not subject to that licensure.
Students should understand that state religious exemption is not the same as institutional accreditation. Accreditation is a separate process administered by recognized accrediting organizations. A religious exemption under Florida law does not, by itself, constitute accreditation or recognition by an accrediting agency.
As BFCU continues to grow, the university is committed to strengthening its academic quality, institutional effectiveness, and educational services in accordance with its mission.
Prospective students should understand that the acceptance of academic credits, certificates, diplomas, or degrees is determined by the receiving institution, employer, denomination, licensing body, or other organization.
Students are encouraged to verify acceptance requirements with any institution or employer before enrolling if they intend to use their studies for a specific purpose.
